MADRID: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed readiness to transfer the premiership to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba earlier than the agreed two-year timeline.
Speaking at an event with Non-Resident Nepali Forum leaders in Madrid, Oli emphasized that the coalition government was formed for political stability. “I am willing to hand over power 10 to 15 days earlier if needed,” he said.
Oli encouraged Nepalis struggling abroad to return and explore opportunities in modern agriculture, highlighting prospects on barren lands in Nepal.
He reaffirmed the Congress-UML alliance will continue until the next elections and acknowledged potential future challenges but said the current situation remains stable.
Oli is in Spain for the UN’s Financing for Development conference and will return to Nepal on July 4.
