KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Parliamentary Party Leader KP Sharma Oli has instructed his party lawmakers to confidently and firmly support the government’s newly presented policies and programs in the federal parliament, saying they are aligned with the country’s goals of political stability, development, and good governance.

Speaking at a meeting of the UML parliamentary party held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli said the government has set a target to establish good governance and drive rapid economic growth through a stable political environment and steady government leadership.

“Our policies are correct. Party members can support them with full confidence. The opposition will naturally oppose for the sake of opposition in the parliamentary process, so we shouldn’t assume there’s any truth in what they say. We must firmly stand in favor of the right decisions. Even when we were in the opposition, we never opposed what was right,” said Chairman Oli.

“There is ideological unity in our party. We possess clarity and determination. I believe this clarity and firmness will be reflected even more effectively in parliamentary proceedings,” he added.

Prime Minister Oli added that the government is working to uplift historically marginalized and underdeveloped groups, while also bringing policies and programs that are accountable to the people, constitutionally cooperative with the opposition, responsible toward peace and order, and answerable to the general public.
