KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reiterated the government’s policy of zero tolerance against corruption.

Speaking during the question-answer session of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, PM Oli emphasized his firm commitment to the principle of “neither committing nor tolerating corruption.”

He said, “Serious corruption cases based on facts cannot be tolerated, but action cannot be taken merely on the basis of allegations.”

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s priority in creating employment opportunities within the country to retain the youth and to utilize the capital, skills, and experiences of returnee migrant workers in productive sectors.

He announced that the government has declared the decade from 2082 to 2092 B.S. as the “Internal Employment Promotion Decade.”

Responding to lawmakers, Oli said significant investments from both the government and the private sector are being made in Nepal’s major development sectors—agriculture, industry, tourism, energy, and infrastructure—which would generate notable employment opportunities.

He added that the Prime Minister Employment Program will be restructured as a National Employment Promotion Program, with a focus on skill-based and employment-oriented initiatives.

Furthermore, he shared that the government is running reintegration and entrepreneurship promotion programs under the “REMI Project” targeting returnee migrant workers in 20 municipalities across Koshi and Madhesh Provinces.

Similarly, he said programs promoting entrepreneurship among the new generation are underway through startup and innovation initiatives.
