CHITWAN:Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Centre) convention organizing committee, met party leaders and workers in Chitwan on Thursday, addressing recent youth protests, government negligence, and upcoming elections.
Prachanda described the Gen Z movement as a “new political consciousness” aligned with the Maoist anti-corruption agenda.
He criticized the government for poor security during the September 9 protest, which led to violent incidents, and said the party immediately declared victims as martyrs and formed a high-level investigation committee.
He emphasized that elections are now the only viable path forward, with all major parties except UML agreeing to participate.
Prachanda also announced that party unity within the Socialist Front is near, aiming to consolidate all leftist forces, including UML, in the long term.
Confident about the Maoist Centre’s future, he said analysts expect the party to emerge as a leading force in upcoming elections and urged members to prepare and contest as a united front.
