KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ met with former Prime Minister and third senior leader of the party, Jhalanath Khanal, on Friday.
The meeting, held at Dahal’s residence in Hattiban, focused on the country’s current political situation, national and international developments, and issues related to communist unity.
The discussion comes amid broader realignments within Nepal’s leftist politics.
On the same day, leaders Janardan Sharma of the “Nepal Progressive Campaign” and Ghanshyam Bhusal, erstwhile General Secretary of the dissolved CPN (Unified Socialist), visited the residence of CPN (Maoist) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand, also known as Biplav, in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur.
Sharma, Bhusal, and Biplav are engaged in discussions aimed at assessing the political landscape and exploring avenues for future cooperation, reflecting growing dissatisfaction among leaders over the unification of the Maoist Centre and CPN (Unified Socialist), which some felt had undermined their political influence and prompted talks of separate alignments.
