KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), met Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal, for about 50 minutes on Monday morning at Biplav’s residence in Harisiddhi.

Prachanda personally went to meet Biplav, who welcomed him at the gate and invited him to his office.Before leaving, Prachanda observed Biplav’s paddy cultivation and praised his involvement in production.

The meeting, initiated at Prachanda’s request, focused on current political issues and the potential unity between their parties.

The Maoist Centre’s Standing Committee had earlier decided to form a committee to advance unification with Biplav-led CPN.
