Prachanda named Co-ordinator, Madhav Nepal Co-coordinator of Nepali Communist Party

KATHMANDU: Ten communist parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist), have merged to form a new political force called the Nepali Communist Party.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been unanimously selected as the Co-ordinator, while Madhav Kumar Nepal has been chosen as the Co-cordinator.

The unity convention held on Wednesday at Bhrikutimandap endorsed their leadership through consensus.-*/*

The convention also passed the party’s interim statute and decided that all central committee members from the participating parties will now be recognized as members of the newly formed Nepali Communist Party.
