KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday promulgated an ordinance to amend the Voter Roll Act, 2017.

According to the President’s Secretariat, the ordinance was issued under Article 114(1) of the Constitution, based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

The ordinance comes in the context of the election announced for March 5, 2026 following the Gen Z protests, aligning the voter registration framework with the upcoming electoral process.
