KATHMANDU: The Joint People’s Movement Committee, led by Nawaraj Subedi, is set to launch a new movement advocating for the restoration of the monarchy.
The official announcement will be made today (Thursday) at Nawadurga Party Palace in Sukedhara, Kathmandu.The event is expected to bring together prominent political figures, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden, RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa, Rastriya Shakti Nepal’s Keshar Bahadur Bista, Nepali Congress (BP) leader Sushilman Sherchan, Shiva Sena Nepal Chairman Anil Basnet, and representatives from various Hindu organizations.
RPP Nepal General Secretary Rajaram Bartaula confirmed that the movement, under Subedi’s leadership, will be formally announced during the event and that Kamal Thapa will attend.
Chairman Thapa will attend the program,” Bartaula stated. “This movement is necessary to free the country from a corrupt system and leadership. It will be a peaceful initiative.”
Organizers have claimed that more than 50 organizations are expected to participate and express their support during the announcement ceremony.
