KATHMANDU: In a major political development, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, and the Nawaraj Subedi-led Joint People’s Movement Committee have announced an indefinite mass movement demanding the restoration of the monarchy and the protection of Sanatan Hindu religion.

The declaration was made during a joint press conference held at Nawadurga Party Palace in Sukedhara, Kathmandu, on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, Nawaraj Subedi, coordinator of the committee, stated that the movement would begin from Jestha 15 (May 29) and would be conducted peacefully.

“We declare an indefinite mass movement starting from Jestha 15,” Subedi said, emphasizing that the protests would adopt forms of civil disobedience and Satyagraha. He also clarified that the movement is focused on systemic change and is not directed against any specific government or political party currently in power.

The announcement ceremony witnessed the presence of notable figures, including RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden, RPP Nepal Chair Kamal Thapa, and former Panchayat-era leader Keshar Bahadur Bista, signifying strong political backing for the movement.
