KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the writ petition demanding the release of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Senior Vice Chairman Rabindra Mishra today.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court assigned the petition to the bench of Justice Sunil Pokharel. Mishra’s wife, Sarika Karki, filed a habeas corpus writ on Tuesday, claiming that he was being held unlawfully.
Mishra was arrested by police on the same day after the royalist protest at Tinkune on Chaitra 15 (March 28). On Tuesday, the Kathmandu District Court extended his custody for an additional five days.
