KATHMANDU: Out of those who filed nominations on January 20 for the House of Representatives election, at least 49 candidates nationwide have withdrawn, the Election Commission announced today.
Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai confirmed the withdrawals during a press briefing.
Additionally, five candidates faced complaints or objections, leading the Commission to cancel one nomination.
Resham Lal Chaudhary of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal had his candidacy revoked following the review.
