KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has announced a change in the venue for its protest scheduled for today afternoon in Kathmandu.
The protest was initially planned to take place at Bhrikutimandap. However, in a press statement, the party informed that the demonstration will now be held at Ratna Park.
The party is staging the protest to demand the release of RPP’s Senior Vice President, Rabindra Mishra, who was arrested following a royalist-led violent protest in Tinkune on March 28.
Meanwhile, RPP General Secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana, who was arrested along with Mishra, was granted bail on Sunday for medical reasons. Mishra, Durga Prasai, and several others remain in custody.
RPP-Nepal has not officially cited a reason for relocating the protest.
