KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) boycotted Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

Both parties boycotted the meeting, demanding a special parliamentary investigation committee or a high-level judicial inquiry into the ‘visit visa’ scandal.

Immediately after Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced the start of the session, MPs from both RPP and RSP stood up to protest.

Speaker Ghimire then gave the floor to RSP’s Hari Dhakal, who accused the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority of being politicized.

He further alleged that the commission was not investigating issues raised by the public because of this politicization.
Following this, Speaker Ghimire gave time for RPP Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi to speak.

He demanded the creation of an environment to buy apples from Jumla. After the MPs from both parties spoke, they walked out of the parliament meeting hall.

The RSP and RPP have been protesting in the House of Representatives meeting since May 27, demanding the formation of a special parliamentary investigation committee or a judicial inquiry commission into the visit visa scandal.
