KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has demanded a judicial investigation into the arrest of Nagarik Unmukti Party’s patron Resham Chaudhary.

Speaking during Monday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, RSP lawmaker Shiva Nepali raised this demand.
“I call for a judicial investigation concerning the arrest of Resham Chaudhary, the founder of the Nagarik Unmukti Party,” he said.

On Baisakh 17 (April 30), a unification between the Nagarik Unmukti Party and the Janamat Party had been scheduled.

Chaudhary was arrested at Pragya Bhawan while attending the unification announcement event. The RSP has insisted that a judicial probe should be conducted into the incident.
