KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has objected to the changes made regarding the ‘cooling-off period’ in the Civil Service Bill.

A meeting of the party’s Secretariat held today decided to demand the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate those involved in altering the provision related to the cooling-off period in the Civil Service Bill passed by the House of Representatives.

Providing details of the meeting’s decisions, party spokesperson Manish Jha stated that the party firmly stands for preserving the sanctity of Parliament and views any manipulation or mischievous acts during the legislative process as intolerable.

The meeting, held at the party’s central office today, also discussed the selection of a candidate for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi-3 scheduled for November 3.

It was decided that the candidate selection procedure will be presented for approval in the upcoming Secretariat meetig.

Likewise, the party reiterated its demand for forming a high-level investigation commission into the visit visa scandal and insisted that the Home Minister resign to facilitate an impartial probe.

The party resolved to continue its ongoing protest in Parliament regarding the issue.

The meeting also decided to activate the party’s central departments.

Spokesperson Jha informed that department heads have been directed to fill vacant posts and submit their performance reports by July 23.

Furthermore, the meeting decided to nominate three members to the Central Organization Department.

Pramila Bhusal, Man Kumar Lama, and Sushil Adhikari have been appointed as members of the department.
