KATHMANDU: The Sarlahi District Security Committee, led by Chief District Officer Ramu Raj Kadariya, has started inspecting polling stations ahead of the March 5 House of Representatives election.
All 81 polling stations in Constituency No. 4 have been marked as highly sensitive due to their proximity to the Indian border and intense political contest.
Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa is contesting from the constituency against Amresh Kumar Singh, the 2022 independent winner now running for the Rastriya Swatantra Party.
District-wide, 158 stations are highly sensitive and 131 are sensitive, with security focus heightened along border areas.
