KATHMANDU: Leaders Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ of the “Nepal Progressive Campaign” and Ghanshyam Bhusal, erstwhile General Secretary of the dissolved CPN (Unified Socialist), visited the residence of Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur, on Friday morning.

The three leaders were engaged in discussions aimed at assessing the political landscape and exploring avenues for future cooperation, though they are not currently part of any formal grouping together.

The meeting comes amid dissatisfaction among leaders over the unification of the Maoist Centre and CPN (Unified Socialist), which some felt undermined their political influence and prompted discussions about forming separate political alignments.

Even before the formal party split, Sharma, Bhusal, and Ram Karki had held informal talks with Biplav and other leaders about creating a new bloc.

Yesterday, Sharma also met with former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to discuss forming an alternative political force.
