KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has demanded disciplinary action against several party leaders for violating party discipline.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting held Monday morning at party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, Shashank said he called for action against his elder brother Shekhar Koirala, along with lawmakers Sunil Sharma and Rajendra Bajgain.
He accused them of making public statements against Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and demanded that the party leadership seek clarification from them.
“We told the president — call them, ask what happened. This needs to be resolved. What’s the benefit of internal conflicts in the party? So, we requested him to seek clarification,” Shashank explained.
