KATHMANDU: Central Committee Member of Nepali Congress Nain Singh Mahar has urged calm and restraint amid the escalating anti-corruption protests of Gen-Z across the country, stressing that any solution must be sought within the framework of the constitution.
Mahar said the movement, which began as a campaign to raise public awareness against corruption and exploitation, has been infiltrated and diverted, resulting in widespread unrest.
“In the process, dozens have lost their lives and property worth billions has been vandalized,” he noted. He condemned what he described as the government’s “barbaric” inaction, which, according to him, has led to the deaths of more than a dozen young people with scores injured.
