KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives session remains stalled due to opposition parties’ protests.

Following demands for the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the ‘visit visa’ controversy, opposition lawmakers raised slogans, prompting Speaker Devaraj Ghimire to suspend the meeting for half an hour.

However, even after the scheduled break, the environment to resume the session was not conducive. Consequently, the Secretariat of Parliament issued a notice postponing the meeting until 2:30 PM.

When the session still could not be convened at the rescheduled time, Speaker Ghimire began discussions with party leaders.

According to his secretariat, talks are currently underway in the Speaker’s chamber to find a way to restart the House session.
