KATHMANDU: In an effort to break the ongoing parliamentary deadlock, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire has begun consultations with the whips of parties represented in Parliament.

The meeting is taking place in Baneshwar and is focused on determining the schedule for budget discussions and ending the obstruction in the House.

Opposition parties, who have been disrupting parliamentary proceedings, accuse the Home Minister of being involved in the visit visa scandal.

Opposition parties have made it clear that they will not allow any parliamentary activities to proceed unless the Home Minister resigns and an investigation commission is formed.

Following the ongoing discussion with party whips, the meeting of the House of Representatives Business Advisory Committee is expected to take place.
