KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire has hold discussions with chief whips and whips of various political parties.
According to the Speaker’s Secretariat, the meeting underway at Singha Durbar is focused on issues related to the ongoing obstruction in the House of Representatives, as well as the parliamentary calendar.
The regular functioning of the House has been disrupted since May 27 due to protests over the visit visa scandal, affecting the scheduled deliberations on the national budget as well.
While the main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre) ended its obstruction last Friday following a two-point agreement with the ruling coalition, other parties such as the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have continued to block proceedings.
