Top leaders of ruling alliance including PM Oli hold meeting

KATHMANDU: A high-level meeting was held today among the top leaders of the ruling coalition parties—CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN).

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar and included Prime Minister and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, JSPN Chair Upendra Yadav, and UML Vice-Chair and Deputy Prime Minister & Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.

Also present at the meeting were UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Nepali Congress leader and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, UML Deputy General Secretary and Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, and JSPN leader Rajkishor Yadav, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The meeting was convened to hold discussions with JSPN after the party announced its intention to withdraw support from the government, in a bid to strengthen the ruling coalition.
