KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is scheduled to begin at 11 AM on Monday at the party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur.
According to UML’s head of the publicity department, Rajendra Gautam, the meeting will discuss several key agendas including a proposal for statute amendment, organizational reporting, and preparations for the upcoming statute convention.
The amendment proposal, which was previously endorsed by the party’s Secretariat and Politburo, will be formally tabled and discussed during the meeting.
The proposed changes include the removal of the 70-year age limit and the two-term cap for holding executive positions.
Additionally, the proposal envisions a three-tier structure comprising the Standing Committee, Politburo, and Central Committee. The Central Committee is set to have 357 members.
Gautam also informed that the Central Committee meeting will continue for two days—Monday and Tuesday.
