LALITPUR: The CPN-UML’s second national statute convention is set to hear suggestions from group discussions today.
According to Party Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam, leaders of groups representing Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will present their feedback on the seven reports submitted to the convention.
Similarly, group leaders from the Valley Special Province, various people’s organizations, contact coordination committees, diaspora units, central bodies, and party departments will also provide their suggestions.
Prime Minister and Party Chair KP Sharma Oli will respond to the suggestions presented by the groups.
If consensus cannot be reached on certain issues, decisions will be made through voting, after which the party statute will be passed in an integrated manner, Gautam said.
The statute convention, which began Friday in Godavari, Lalitpur, had seen discussions in 10 groups on Saturday on Chair Oli’s political report, Vice Chair Bishnu Paudel’s statute amendment proposal, and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel’s organizational report, among others.
A total of 2,341 representatives are participating in the convention, including 2,026 from across the country and 315 from the organizing committee.
