KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML marked Republic Day by organizing a rally accompanied by cultural displays in the capital on Thursday.

The rally, which began earlier in the day, is now arriving at Bhrikutimandap, the designated venue, where it will culminate in a corner meeting.

UML cadres gathered at Bhrikutimandap have been marching in a circular route around Tundikhel.

According to the party’s schedule, the UML will continue its rally and demonstration in and around Ratnapark until 2:00 PM. After that, authorities have made preparations to allow royalist groups to stage their own demonstration.

Prominent UML leaders including General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Secretary Padma Aryal, Head of the Publicity Department Rajendra Gautam, and Head of Mass Organization Coordination Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal are participating in the rally.
