KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) has withdrawn its support to the Madhesh Province government.

On Wednesday, the party announced that it would retract its backing of the government led by Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh, stating that further cooperation would no longer be possible.

UML accused the Singh-led government of failing to meet public expectations and losing political ethics.

With UML’s withdrawal, the Madhesh Province government has fallen into a minority.

Earlier, the Nepali Congress had also withdrawn its support to the Singh-led government.

This has intensified discussions about a possible change in power in Madhesh Province.
