KATHMANDU: The Unified Socialist Party (CPN–Unified Socialist) is holding its Secretariat meeting today (Thursday).

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 11 AM at the party’s central office in Aloknagar. The meeting will deliberate on several key issues, including the corruption allegations against party chair Madhav Kumar Nepal in connection with the Patanjali land deal scandal, current political developments, and alleged manipulation surrounding the Civil Service Bill.

Additionally, the meeting is expected to address the explanation sought from party leader Ram Kumari Jhakri. Following the corruption charges against Chair Nepal in the Patanjali land case, Jhakri had publicly criticized the party leadership and demanded an early general convention.

Her statement—likening the party to a “dead corpse she can no longer carry on her shoulder”—prompted the party’s Central Disciplinary Commission to issue a formal notice seeking clarification from her.
