KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has sought a formal clarification from Standing Committee member Ram Kumari Jhakri.
Following the party’s Secretariat meeting held on Thursday at its Aloknagar office, Vice-Chairperson Jagannath Khatiwada informed that the party’s Disciplinary Commission has issued a clarification notice to Jhakri. Earlier today, Jhakri had visited the party office and stated that the demand for clarification was baseless.
Vice-Chair Khatiwada added that the Commission has set a deadline for Jhakri to respond regarding her recent remarks, and he expressed confidence that she would submit her explanation within the given timeframe.
The meeting also discussed the issue surrounding party chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal in connection with the Patanjali controversy, the current political situation, and internal matters of the party, Khatiwada said.
Thursday’s meeting was attended by Vice-Chair Dharmanath Sah, Deputy General Secretary Metmani Chaudhary, and Rajendra Rai, among others.
He noted that the meeting was adjourned shortly due to the ill health of General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal. The Secretariat meeting of the Unified Socialist has been postponed until July 6.
