Her remarks come amid the third plenary meeting of the party’s Central Committee, which has been in session for three days and has witnessed intense discussions on the unity proposal with the Maoists.
Jhakri clarified that she would not take part in the proposed merger under the current circumstances, even though she remains in favor of leftist unity and ideological polarization.
During the meeting being held in Kathmandu, reports suggest that two-thirds of the Central Committee members have expressed support for party unification with the Maoist Centre.
However, Jhakri, along with senior leader Jhalanath Khanal, General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal and other leaders, has opposed the proposal.
Indirectly addressing party chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhakri said their faction should not be labeled as anti-unity.
