KATHMANDU: In a meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Secretariat held on Saturday, party leader Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ expressed a differing opinion on the proposal to unify with the CPN (Unified Socialist), urging that the unification process be halted.

Sharma objected to the unity proposal presented by party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, warning that such a move could weaken the ideological foundation and revolutionary character of the Maoist movement.

He stated, “A unity pursued without ideological clarity, evaluation of the past, and organizational readiness will not strengthen the leftist movement—it will instead empower right-wing opportunism.”
