KATHMANDU: The nationwide compilation of the voter list for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections is currently underway.
According to Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the voter registration process has been progressing with remarkable public enthusiasm in recent weeks. The voter list compilation will continue until November 16.
The House of Representatives election is scheduled for March 5, 2026.Only those who are listed in the voter roll and turn 18 years of age by March 4, 2026 will be eligible to vote in the election.
The Commission has urged all Nepali citizens who will reach the age of 18 by that date and possess a citizenship certificate to register their names in the voter list by November 16.
Due to the high number of people registering, the Commission reported that its voter registration servers have been facing heavy traffic, causing some inconvenience to service seekers.
After the completion of the House of Representatives election, as in previous years, all Nepali citizens who turn 16 years of age and have obtained a citizenship certificate will again be eligible to register their names in the voter list.
