KATHMANDU: With the issuance of the Special Arrangement Ordinance on Dismissal of Public Office Bearers, 2026 by President Ramchandra Paudel, office bearers across multiple public institutions—from Nepal Airlines Corporation to the National Medical Education Commission—have been relieved of their positions.
The ordinance provides for amendments to a total of 110 laws, which will have a direct impact on regulatory bodies, public institutions, and other government structures.
The most significant impact will be on individuals holding public offices.
According to the ordinance, around 1,534 public office bearers will be removed from their posts.
