KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has lauded the Nepal Telecom’s role for the economic prosperity by expanding access to communications across the country.
In his address to the 22nd anniversary of the Nepal Telecom today, he said the role of the Nepal Telecom during the times of crises such as natural disaster, earthquake and pandemic is spectacular.
He stated that with the expansion of services, Nepal Telecom has made a remarkable contribution to digital services, digital literacy, and overall national development.
Home Minister Aryal mentioned that telecommunication services have become not only a means of communication but also a key infrastructure for educational, economic, and social development. ‘Providing quality services based on the latest technology is a necessity of the times,’ he said. ‘Developing services based on new technologies while balancing public responsibility and innovation, and providing quality service, is the right of the service recipients.’
He believes that satisfied customers are the cornerstone of sustainable development for the company, and thus special attention needs to be given in this regard.
Minister Aryal also expressed confidence that in the coming days, Nepal Telecom will provide services based on advanced technology while focusing on customer satisfaction.
Highlighting that public institutions serve as a bridge connecting citizens and the government, he stated that Nepal Telecom will play an important role in deepening citizen–government relations.
Home Minister Aryal also expressed the government’s commitment to acting as a guardian in strengthening and developing Nepal Telecom. Also speaking on the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Laxmi Kumari Basnet stated that Nepal Telecom will expand quality services and enhance access even in remote and backward areas.
“Nepal Telecom will positively impact the standard of living of the general public and make the quality of the services more effective,” she added.
Chairperson of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority Bhupendra Bhandari shared that the Company has expanded its 4G LTE service in 749 local level government units of 77 districts in seven provinces.
