MAHENDRANAGAR: The Armed Police Force (APF) is setting up election security base in all 16 constituencies of Sudurpaschim Province in view of the upcoming House of Representatives election. The HoR election is slated for March 5.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Digbijay Subedi, at APF’s Vaidyanath Battalion No-7, informed that in all nine districts of Sudurpaschim Province, APF was setting up the election security bases under the command of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Election-focused security plan is underway in the province, Subedi added.

As per the plan, over 5,100 APF personnel would be mobilized in the province. “A 10-day-long orientation is being provided to the election police in all districts,” he shared, adding that the establishment of election security bases would be helpful to ensure security relating to election- to voters, political leaders, candidates, and election staffs.

Even a battalion election cell is going to be established by the APF.
