Around 600 police personnel face action for posting non-professional contents in social media

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police has taken action against 599 of its service personnel for posting non-professional and unauthorized contents contrary to policy related to social media use.

Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Abinarayan Kafle, shared that departmental action was taken against Deputy Inspector General to office assistant for making indecent comment against police organisation and misusing police uniform in different social media platforms including Facebook, X and Tiktok. The number of police personnel facing such action is till the date from fiscal year 2077/78 BS.

The Nepal Police had issued guidelines related to the use of social media in 2071 BS in order to make the use of social media disciplined and systematic.
