LALITPUR: The Lalitpur District Administration Office has imposed a curfew in select areas of Lalitpur Metropolitan City from 7:00 AM to 12:00 midnight today.
The order, issued by Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire under Section 6(a) of the Local Administration Act, aims to maintain peace and security and to prevent any possible disturbances during a period of heightened tension.
The curfew order restricts all forms of public movement, rallies, demonstrations, meetings, and encirclement activities within designated zones covering Wards No. 2, 4, 9, 18, and 25 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
In Bhaisepati, which falls under Wards 4, 18, and 25, the restricted zone extends from the Bhaisepati–Bungmati road in the east to the CG Housing and Chobhar Galchhi road in the west.
The northern boundary is defined by the Bishnu Devi Temple below the Gayatri Petrol Pump, while the southern limit stretches to the slope leading towards Itani.
In Sanepa under Ward 2, the curfew area covers the paved road between Sanepa Chowk and Indrayani Temple in the east, and the Bagmati Corridor road from Balkhu Bridge to Manmohan Park in the west.
The northern boundary runs along the Ring Road service lane from Balkhu Bridge to Sanepa Chowk, while the southern perimeter follows the road from Indrayani Temple down to the Bagmati Corridor.
Similarly, in Chyasal under Ward 9, the restricted zone is defined by the suspension bridge of the Manohara Khola Corridor in the east, the Chyasal Stadium in the west, the Manohara Khola in the north, and the road leading to Mal Pokhari in the south.
CDO Ghimire stated that the curfew was issued as a precautionary measure to ensure public order and prevent any untoward incidents.
