KATHMANDU: The fifth edition of the joint military exercise ‘Sagarmatha Friendship’ between the Nepal Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army began in Kathmandu today.

The exercise, which will run until September 16, will include knowledge sharing on disaster management, United Nations peacekeeping missions, counter-terrorism, and related areas.

Launched in 2017, the exercise has since been conducted alternately in Nepal and China each year.

The Nepal Army has been actively participating in bilateral and multilateral exercises and professional competitions with friendly nations’ armies to enhance its capabilities across various fields.
