Four newly promoted AIGs receive insignia

KATHMANDU: Four newly promoted Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) of the Nepal Police were presented with their official insignia.

Police Inspector General Chandra Kuber Khapung handed over the insignia during a ceremony held at the Nepal Police Headquarters on Friday.

The officers honored with the insignia are Sushil Singh Rathor, Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, Himalaya Kumar Shrestha, and Dambar Bahadur BK.

The Cabinet had approved the recommendation for their promotion during Thursday’s meeting.

Addressing the ceremony, IGP Khapung urged the newly promoted AIGs to use their experience, judgment, and leadership for the overall development and welfare of the organization.

He emphasized that the improved Nepal Police is the best alternative for law enforcement in the country and instructed them to analyze past shortcomings to deliver more refined and citizen-friendly police services.

On behalf of the promoted officers, Rathor pledged to work professionally within the framework of Nepal’s Constitution and existing laws.

All four promoted officers have been posted to their respective departments: Rathor to the Crime Investigation Department, Chaturvedi to the Operations Department, Shrestha to the Administration Department, and BK to the Provincial Coordination Department.
