KATHMANDU: The government has appealed to all citizens to help maintain peace, order, and harmony in the country and to ensure the upcoming elections are held successfully.

In a press statement issued on October 8, the Ministry of Home Affairs urged the public to express their opinions peacefully and to conduct protest programs in a nonviolent manner.

The ministry stated that the government has always remained positive about addressing citizens’ concerns, interests, and demands through dialogue and discussion.

It further requested that any problems be resolved through talks and consultations before resorting to demonstrations or rallies.

Following the formation of the new government, efforts are underway to bring the situation under control, restore law and order, and create a conducive environment for the elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, according to the statement issued by Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Ananda Kafle.

The ministry emphasized that maintaining peace and security and conducting the elections on the announced date is a shared responsibility of all stakeholders and citizens.
