KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has appealed for the return of weapons lost from security personnel during protests on September 8 and 9 in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.

According to ministry spokesperson Ananda Kafle, anyone who finds the missing weapons or valuables from security forces is requested to hand them over to the nearest security office by mid-October.

The ministry stated that individuals who return or provide information about the lost items within the deadline will be given due recognition, while those found in possession after the deadline will face legal action.

Meanwhile, the commission formed to investigate the human and physical damages caused during the protests has begun its work.

The probe body, led by Gauri Bahadur Karki and formed under the Investigation Commission Act, has been mandated to collect complaints and evidence, analyze them, and recommend necessary actions.
