KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has expressed concern over comments linking the institution and its leadership to the Gen Z movement.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Army said it was drawing attention to criticism made through media and social networks.

“The Nepal Army also wishes to inform that it regularly communicates its views and activities through press releases, official notes, and social media platforms,” the statement said.

The Army requested that, given the current sensitive situation, information regarding the institution should be obtained through the Public Relations and Directorate to ensure accurate reporting.

“We sincerely appreciate the various opinions and critical feedback received from scholars, social workers, journalists, and citizens regarding the Army’s role in normalizing the extraordinary circumstances of September 8–9. The Nepali Army wishes to clarify that it evaluates the potential impacts on internal security objectively and takes necessary initiatives to restore peace and security as quickly as possible,” the statement added.
