KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Headquarters has instructed officers who were in charge during the Gen Z protests of September 8–9 not to leave the Kathmandu Valley.
The directive comes as the probe commission investigating the incidents may summon them for statements at any time.
In a letter sent to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, the headquarters stated that officers deployed in the most affected areas must be made available for questioning when required.
“Since the officers deployed in areas with the highest damage may need to be called for questioning by the commission at any moment, arrangements should be made to ensure they do not leave the Valley for now,” the notice issued by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Santosh Niraula reads.
