KATHMANDU: A case has been filed against 17 individuals in connection with the leasing of land belonging to Nepal Bal Mandir located in Naxal, Kathmandu.

The Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office registered the case at the District Court on Wednesday.

The decision to lease the land was made when Rita Singh Baidya was the Chairperson of the Nepal Children’s Organization (Nepal Bal Sangathan). Along with Singh, cases have been filed against 17 individuals in total.

The lawsuit demands a claim of over RS 600 million.

After investigating the decision to lease the land of Bal Mandir, the police had submitted the case file, though the District Government Attorney’s Office initially recommended that there was no need to pursue the case.

Singh is the sister of Prakash Man Singh, who is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development.
