KATHMANDU: Eight people were injured in a microbus accident that took place today near the Bhuvaneshwari Temple in Ward No. 3 of Tarakeshwar Municipality, Kathmandu.
According to Superintendent of Police Ali Raj Bohara, who also serves as the spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Office, the incident occurred when a microbus with registration number Ba 1 Ja 8685, carrying pilgrims from Banepa in Kavre district, lost control due to brake failure while ascending a slope near Teenpiple.
The microbus was en route to Bhuvaneshwari Temple for a religious visit when the mechanical failure caused it to crash.
Among the injured are Sunita Khadka (38), Sharada Rawat (38), Anita Thapa (37), Kanchi Khadka (60), Ramshobha Thapa (45), Shanta Khatri (45), Parvati Kafle (70), and Laxmi Khadka (37), all of whom are residents of Banepa Municipality–10 in Kavre.
Following the accident, all injured individuals were immediately taken to Mega Green City Hospital in Jhor, Kathmandu, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Police have initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident and are monitoring the condition of the victims.
