KAILALI: Assistive devices have been distributed to 68 persons with disabilities in three municipalities of Kailali.
The distribution of the aid aims to establish easy access to education for students with disabilities. A total of 92 items of 16 different types were distributed to children with disabilities after identifying their needs.
A total of 18 individuals received 24 types of assistive devices In Lamkichuha Municipality, 26 individuals received 39 types in Janaki Rural Municipality and 24 individuals received 29 types of various support materials in Tikapur Municipality.
A total budget of Rs 13,51,840 was allocated for distributing supportive devices, including wheelchairs, chairs, toilet chairs, artificial legs, and artificial fingers, informed Arun Chaudhary, programme coordinator at Good Neighbours International Nepal.
The distribution of these support materials was conducted through an inclusive project with financial and technical support from Good Neighbors International Nepal, in partnership with Sevak Nepal Kailali and coordination with Lamkichuha Municipality, Janaki Rural Municipality, and Tikapur Municipality.
