Eight injured in Dhankuta road accident

DHANKUTA: Eight people were injured in a Tata Sumo accident in Kusetar, part of the Tamor Corridor road section in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-3, Dhankuta.

The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Sunday when the vehicle, traveling from Taplejung to Dharan (license plate ME 1 JA 2655), lost control and crashed.

The injured passengers include 45-year-old Namkala Phuyal, 47-year-old Jayeshwar Pokharel, 38-year-old Isu Pangeni, 22-year-old Nikita Phuyal, 16-year-old Sharish Pokharel, 46-year-old Sabitri Adhikari, 52-year-old Dip Chandra Ghimire, and 45-year-old Naba Raj Phuyal, all from Bharatpur Municipality-11, Chitwan, according to Dhankuta District Police Spokesperson DSP Omprakash Khanal.

According to DSP Khanal, the Tata Sumo fell approximately 10 feet off the road. The injured were immediately transported to BP Koirala Health Foundation in Dharan for treatment.
