Eight injured in hornet sting in Hetauda

HETAUDA: Eight people were injured after being attacked by hornets at Sahid Smarak Park, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-11 on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred while they were lighting a fire for a ritual ceremony near the forest area outside the Sahid Smarak Park.

The injured individuals have been identified as Sharmila Gurung (22), Runumaya Gurung (78), Kshetra Bahadur Gurung (61), Amila Gurung (34), Kavita Gurung (37), Krishna Maya Gurung (65), Suntali Maya Gurung (64), and Sanjog Gurung (19), all residents of the same area.

They sustained multiple stings on different parts of their bodies. Following the attack, all eight were rushed to Hetauda Hospital for treatment.

According to Bagmati Province Police Office spokesperson Sanjay Singh Thapa, seven have been discharged after receiving medical care, while Runuv Maya Gurung is still under treatment in the ICU at Hetauda Hospital.
