KATHMANDU: The government has announced a public holiday in the Kathmandu Valley on coming Sunday.

Issuing a statement on Friday, Home Ministry spokesperson Ram Chandra Tiwari informed that a public holiday has been declared in the three districts of the Valley on the occasion of the Bhoto Jatra of Machhindranath.

The statement also mentioned that the notice regarding the public holiday for Bhoto Jatra had already been published in the Nepal Gazette on Falgun 15, 2081 BS (February 27, 2025).
